We’ve been busy the past few weeks organising our very first AGM. Although Banc Organics has been growing and providing veg for over 10 years, a little less than 18 months ago we reformed as a Community Interest Company with big plans to spend 2020 out in the community, meeting lots of new people, sharing experiences and making memories. Like everyone else, we had no idea what was ahead of us, and instead of the community work we had planned, we undertook the serious work of getting food to people in need in a time of huge uncertainty. As supply chains were shaken up and broken at the beginning of the pandemic, we were rarely certain that what we ordered from suppliers would arrive, and we were so grateful to be able to continue to supply the food from our fields and to offer free delivery to those who needed to stay at home.
Through an undeniably difficult year, we saw communities pull together, people help friends, neighbours and strangers and we were reminded over and over again why we want to be an ethical, local food producer deeply embedded in our community.
To those of you who have been with us on this journey, and to those of you who have only just joined us, we’d like to say a huge thank you for supporting us, and we will be sending out an invite to the (online) AGM soon – if you’re not yet a member or customer, just send us an email and we can send you an invite. We’d love to see you there so that we can share some more of our stories with you.
